Seminar on Politics in the Digital Era

The seminar aims to critically examine the rapid rise of digital technologies and their impact on various aspects of India’s socio-political, economic, and security landscape. With India emerging as a key player in the digital era, this seminar will provide an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers and next generation leaders to engage in meaningful discussions on the opportunities and challenges presented by digitalisation. The seminar will explore themes such as digital literacy, e-governance, data sovereignty, cross-border data flow, and the role of biometrics in political identity. Additionally, it will analyse the impact of digital connectivity on democracy, labour and trade in the digital economy, and the ethical concerns surrounding AI and
algorithms. Special emphasis will be placed on gender biases in digital spaces, cyber warfare, policy formulation in the digital age, and India’s evolving diplomatic strategies in a technologically integrated world. By addressing these objectives , the seminar seeks to foster informed debates on the implications of digitalisation and propose solutions to mitigate the risks associated with it. Ultimately, the seminar aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of India’s digital trajectory and its global positioning in the digital revolution.
