Workshop with Panasonic India
On 9 November 2019, PixElation organized a photography workshop in collaboration with Panasonic India. The workshop was conducted by the Director of photography of Panasonic’s Lumix series, Jassi Oberai, a well-known landscape and fashion photographer. The theme of the workshop was 4K technology and mirrorless cameras. A series of such cameras were also put on display for the students.
On 21 September 2019, PixElation went on to a photowalk in collaboration with Envision – The Photography society of SBSC. The photowalk was taken by two very famous and self-taught photographers, Nimit Nigam and Sourabh Gandhi in the premises of the tomb. The students learnt a lot of concepts through an interactive session with them.
The society went on Annual photography trip to Uttarakhand in the first week of January to capture the scenic beauty of the place. Slow shutter speed photography technique in -2°C was tried for the first time and turned out to be an innovative and new experience. Focus was also on exploring the villages and talking to people so that the real stories behind the shots could be brought into perspective. Ankit, our Head-coordinator took cinematic shots of different places such as Deorital (a 3km steep trek from Sari Village), Chopta and Rishikesh even in the snowfall. On the way back, the team visited Rishikesh to see Ganga Arti and capture that too in the lens.
On 20 January 2020 PixElation organised a photowalk to India Gate. The motive was to take shots of the Republic Day Parade practice in the early morning of chilly winter as well as the monumental shots at the Lodhi Garden. Students also took shots of the ducks in the lake over there. It was a great experience for them to play with shutter speeds and motion.Students with varied levels of photography knowledge join the society and enhance their understanding and photographic skills. Sessions are conducted aiming at the very basic things such as exposure triangle, where theoretical knowledge is presented along with the practical experiences.
