Thrust on imparting the students with enhanced employability and entrepreneurial skills in tune with the contemporary demands

The College envisages to create an institution in tune with contemporary demands and enabling the holistic development of its students through its various initiatives like add-on courses, training workshops, internships, research and entrepreneurial opportunities. These endeavors have continued with full vigour even during the tough pandemic times.

  • The College with support from MoMSME has established a Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership (CIEL) and a Technology Business Incubator (the first college of University of Delhi to have a TBI) with the main aim to support the spirit of entrepreneurship and a zeal for leadership and progressive business ideas among students. The IQAC and TBI, organized a workshop on “Features of National Career Service” in collaboration with National Institute for Career Services, Ministry of Labour & Employment (GOI). The College conducted a one-week Export Development Programme and a workshop on “Industrial Motivation Campaign (IMC-Y) for Youth”in collaboration with MSME Development Institute (MSME), GoI.

  • ARSD college has been selected as a network institute of the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun, a constituent unit of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Govt. of India. Under this scheme, the College has offered 6 courses on the basics of Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System and Global Navigation Satellite System

  • DBT STAR College has helped increase interdisciplinary interactions and created a research and collaborative atmosphere amongst the faculty members and students, whereby students are encouraged to opt for research as a career option. Students also got exposure to industrial training programs. With the establishment of DBT Science Centre, both the students and the teachers got a place to interact with each other and discuss various new practicals, research schemes and to devote themselves to research and innovations.

  • The Skill Development and Entrepreneurship cell of the College has been set up with an objective of improving entrepreneurial and professional skills of the students. The cell offers add-on courses, training programmes under the PM Yuva Yojana and workshops and courses on vocational skills and has successfully completed 7 courses and several others are being proposed.

  • The college is associated with FutureSkills Prime jointly owned by the Ministry of Electronics & IT, GoI and NASSCOM. It helps in bridging the gap between academia and industry.

  • In collaboration with the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, the College organised a five day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp which focused on making the students self-reliant and self-employed. IQAC, ARSD College in collaboration with NIESBUD organized a one week Faculty Development Programme on “Entrepreneurship, Motivation and Leadership” to train the faculty in taking entrepreneurial initiatives and inculcate the same in their students.

  • The College has 17 Research Labs to provide for research/ internship opportunities to our students and those from other Colleges/Universities.

  • The primary objective of the Placement Cell is to provide job and internship opportunities to students. It also organizes workshops and seminars on career related matters. The Cell organizes a Job and Internship Fair annually. Some of our placement partners are GENPACT, KPMG, Wipro, Indigo, BYJU’s, Concentrix, TresVista, E&Y and L&T. The Placement Cell of the College signed up for Coursera for Campus Program which provided free access to around 4000 online courses from leading universities. More than 2800 students registered for this program.

  • An MOU was signed between Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (University of Delhi) and National Productivity Council (NPC), an autonomous organization under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India to Develop & conduct Capacity Building Programs for Aspiring Entrepreneurs through specifically designed course curriculum. An online training program on ‘Advanced IT Technologies’ has successfully trained the students in the most in-demand IT domains such as Blockchain, AI-ML, Robotics and Hyperledger etc.

  • The IQAC of the College launched the In-house Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Projects Scheme, PRABODH and the Central Instrumentation Facility. The aim of the in-house research and innovation projects scheme- PRABODH, is to promote the research culture in the College and encourage the involvement of teachers and students in research initiatives in areas that go beyond the curriculum boundaries to address real life challenges faced by the society, the nation and the world. Such research ingenuity is imperative to resolve collective problems in a more sustainable and efficient manner. The aim of CIF is to build, enhance and provide basic instrumentation facilities to cater the needs of the stakeholders.

  • The College is contemplating launching the Research and Development Cell to foster its research ecosystem. PRABODH and CIF are initiatives in this regard.

  • The College has an active dramatics society, Ranagayan, which organizes an annual 3-day theatre festival titled “Rangshirsh Jaidev Natya Samaroh” and offers production-oriented certificate course on theatre techniques. Rangayan encourages theatre enthusiasts and leaves them with an enriching experience of theatre. Rangayan opens exciting vistas for its members as many of them might like to enter diverse fields of film industry. It’s a learning platform for students to understand the plot development, direction, choreography, costume design, music and most importantly working collaboratively with the juniors, seniors and famous theatre directors. Students, thus get acquainted with various aspects, methods and techniques of theatre productions. These workshops have been instrumental in placing these theater aspirants in appropriate jobs.

  • Enactus ARSD provides a platform for budding social entrepreneurs to hone their entrepreneurial skills to bring about a positive change in the lives of the underprivileged sections of the society. Upholding the sustainable development goals, through its initiatives and training, the student volunteers plan and execute activities under various projects catering to different social needs of the society to validate the spirit of #weallwin.

  • The NCC wing of the College motivates and prepares the aspiring students for joining the armed forces by providing them training- on campus and off-campus and various other opportunities.

  • NSS endeavours to imbibe the spirit of social work among the students, which they may pursue as a career option. 16 volunteers completed the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme organized by the collaboration of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Resource Development Rural Area, Leadership.

  • Creative writing and Content writing workshops organised for different languages have encouraged many budding writers in the pursuit of their passion.

  • Different societies of the College like NSS, NCC, Finance and Investment Cell, Fine Arts and Crafts Society, Photography and Cultural society are actively engaged in inculcating leadership skills, organization and management capabilities and team spirit among the students as a step towards preparing them for prospective job roles and requirements. Specific workshops/ certificate courses are organized by the societies to hone their creative skills.

  • The college has a fully functional recording studio to enhance the online teaching learning process and assist in organising student-centric activities.
