The Department of Mathematics aims to produce graduates who are not only knowledgeable in Mathematics but also responsible, passionate, kind, and skilled individuals. To achieve this, the department adopts an interactive, student-friendly pedagogy supplemented with audio-visual aids, e-content, and group project-based assessment. This approach not only facilitates a deeper understanding of the subject but also grooms students’ personality and soft skills. The department’s active association, “Quaternion,” regularly conducts seminars, workshops, and interactive sessions to broaden students’ horizons and keep them informed of the latest developments in the field of study.

In addition, the department undertakes all its activities through various committees established by the staff council, and students are encouraged to participate in both curricular and extra-curricular activities. Through the Star College scheme, students interact with other departments covered by the program, such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The department intends to continue organizing interdisciplinary seminars and workshops, along with field visits, under the Star College scheme, enabling students to explore the interrelationships between different science subjects and break down subject boundaries. Overall, the department is dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals who will contribute positively to society.
