ARSD College is proud to announce its selection for the second phase of the STAR College Scheme by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, as of December 8, 2023. This prestigious recognition comes with a generous grant of Rs. 1.94 Crore, dedicated to advancing the college's commitment to interdisciplinary research and excellence in science education at the undergraduate level.
Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, this initiative emphasizes the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration, aiming to foster a holistic research environment. Six departments within ARSD College will actively collaborate to drive this interdisciplinary approach, ensuring that students are exposed to diverse scientific perspectives and methodologies. The primary objective of the STAR College Scheme is to significantly enhance laboratory infrastructure by integrating advanced equipment that meets industry standards and aligns with the latest scientific advancements.
Under the auspices of the STAR College Scheme, ARSD College has already made notable strides in promoting research and academic excellence. Noteworthy events hosted by the college include the International Conference on Chemical Biological Sciences (ICCBS-2024), held from January 27-29, 2024; a National Seminar on "AI in Biological Sciences," conducted from February 27-28, 2024; and the 2nd International Conference on Recent Advances in Functional Materials (RAFM-2024), from March 14-16, 2024. These events are a testament to the college’s dedication to fostering a vibrant research culture and expanding the frontiers of scientific knowledge within the framework of the STAR College initiative.
